Unable
to Connect to Database:
If,
when entering your MySQL database details
into DLGuard, DLGuard says it is unable to
connect to your database, you will need to
check your database settings.
The
most common issue is a problem with your database
hostname.
The
most common hostname is "localhost",
and this will work for many servers, however
some servers (such as Servage, and GoDaddy,
for example) will require you to enter a special
host name.
Your
database host name will be listed in your
MySQL database setup page in your hosting
control panel.
If
you're not sure, then email your hosting provider
and ask them what your MySQL details are and
they will be able to tell you.
Error
when setting up database: "Duplicate
entry 'default_member_email' for key 1"
If
this error is shown when you set up your database,
this means that your database has already
been created.
Simply
skip this step of the installation. To do
this, point your browser window to the "admin"
folder of DLGuard. For example: www.example.com/dlg/admin/
(...where
"example.com" is your domain name,
and "dlg" is the folder into which
you installed DLGuard)
DLGuard
connects to the database, but does not create
any tables:
If
DLGuard is able to connect to your database
but is unable to create tables in your database,
this is usually because your database username
does not have enough "access rights"
to create database tables.
Check
the database user you created in your hosting
control panel, and make sure that user has
complete access to your database.
If
you're not sure how to do this, contact your
hosting provider and they will be able to
tell you.
